Like a different name. And of course I pondered my dream job. Hmmm ... what woud I do ... and what would I change my name to? I wonder why it never occurred to me to dream of not working? I don't know ... damn puritan work ethic, I guess.
Anyhow, at one point I made a list of jobs and names that I wanted, then gave it to my parents. Here's what I remember from my list:
Names
- Barbara (yep, believe it or not I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a Babs)
- Linda
- Joanna (not sure what I was thinking there ... sorry anybody named Joanna. I like the name, but it's not one of childhood dreams)
- Christine
- Nicole
Job List
- Gas station worker (They always pulled out a big wad of cash, so I was convinced this would be a good move.)
- Nurse (um, what was I thinking? Can you picture me giving a needle? HELL NO!!!)
- Wild World of Sports (Yep, this appeared on my list ... just like this. I'm not sure what I thought my job would be, but I was gonna be the "Wild World of Sports." I'm the most un-athletic person ever, so this makes no sense.)
- Singer (this is still on my list)
- Actress (so is this)
What did you want to be named? And what jobs did you want to do?

I don't think I wanted a different first name ... I hated my middle name - Reiner.
I don't think I had these visions of what I wanted to be .... I can tell you that I love the Monkees tv show, and Captain Noah ... So, probably wanted to either be a Captain or Peter Tork.
OMG - I wanted the name Linda, too. I wanted to be a florist, still do kinda, but then I realized i'd have to deal with bitchy brides.
I can't remember what I wanted my name to be. I remember not liking mine, though.
I wanted to be a lawyer. Pretty funny considering how little I think of lawyers now.
I also wanted be a journalist.
It never occurred to me not to work either.
I had a firts and last name picked out.
Judy Ryan.
And I wanted to be a vet.
I guess I was in touch with my inner lesbian when I was a child.
Good thing I grew out of that.
I do plan to use the pseudonym Judy Ryan in any future felonies (planned or unplanned).
Well, I can't give away What I Want(ed) to be, as that's my post topic in a couple of days - do drop by, dahling.
As for names, there was a girl in junior high who looked like a long-haired angel, and even had a name like one - Emma. Loved it.
Also, for some inexplicable reason,
Chloe.
